What is Yaddocast?
Yaddocast is the easiest and most entertaining way to learn more about Yaddo's history. Get an insider's view of Yaddo's historic facilities. Experience the trials, tribulations, and triumphs of creative endeavor. And most importantly, hear more about Yaddo artists, and the many ways Yaddo inspires them.
Yaddocast is composed of several individual podcast series, all of which are delivered to you in a timely fashion if you subscribe (see the left hand tool bar of this page to learn how to subscribe).
The first series comprises twenty short audio episodes that acquaint you with the crucial people and places associated with the foundation and growth of Yaddo. A new episode of this series posts daily 9/15-9/19, 9/22-9/26, 10/6-10/10, and 10/13-10/17. You may sample the most recent episode by clicking on the audio player below (which looks like a horizontal bar with a play button).
Beginning in October, this first series will be reissued as a series of visually enhanced, graphically animated episodes in the style of PBS documentaries. A new visually enhanced episode will post each Monday, starting 10/20.
The second series of the Yaddocast podcast will be published concurrently with the New York Public Library exhibit "Yaddo: Making American Culture." These episodes will be audio-only, NPR-style explorations of material and events associated with this groundbreaking exhibit.
